Castle Hill bids farewell to Mrs Allpress

After 22 years at Castle Hill, we say a fond farewell and thank you to Mrs Eileen Allpress who will be leaving today. Mrs Allpress has been an inspirational teacher and leader and is loved and respected by all involved at Castle Hill Infant and Junior schools, as well as being highly respected in the wider Ipswich community.

Mrs Allpress started out at Castle Hill as a teacher, SENCo, and then Deputy Head before leading the school as Principal of the Infant School and latterly of both schools, and has been an integral part of the school community.

We started our goodbyes last week during a special assembly for Mrs Allpress, invited parents along for coffee and cake on Monday and pupils took part in a special church service where we sang songs, gave gifts and shared special memories. We laughed, some cried and we will miss Mrs Allpress very much.

Mr Paul Ward will be joining us from January as Interim Principal to support the school until we appoint a permanent Principal from September. Mr Ward has been working closely with Mrs Allpress to ensure there is little disruption and the school can continue to make the excellent progress it has already been making.
